ABSTRACT

Thesis, Name: Satria Okta Valentina NIM: 20150017, Title "Concept of Islamic Education in the Perspective Hasan Langgulung (Literature Review)"

Islamic education is the development potential and cultural heritage from generation to generation. But the reality in Indonesia, culture passed from generation to generation is slowly fading and the development potential is limited by technological advances and information that have no end. Hasan Langgulung as one of the leaders of Islamic education in the global era, offering educational concept that Islam has principles that have an important role to the existence and development of society, among them: the principles of the historical and ideological principles
Background of the following problems: 1) how the concept of Islamic education in the perspective of Hasan Langgulung? 2) how the relevance of Islamic education Langgulung Hasan perspective with Islamic education in Indonesia ?. The objectives of this study are: 1) to know the concept of Islamic education in the perspective of Hasan Langgulung, 2) to determine the relevance of Islamic education in the perspective of Hasan Langgulung with Islamic education in Indonesia.
In writing this essay, the author uses methods of library research which is a way to know the thoughts of a character that Hasan Langgulung by reviewing and discussing the result of his work, in order to obtain data about his thinking completely and supported by other sources that have relevance thinking Hasan Langgulung.
Based on the relevance of Islamic education with Islamic education in Indonesia is divided into two periods, namely education pre-Islamic and post-Islamic, which is very far once the difference between the two periods. At first there is no education system at all concrete, in order to educate the nation. However, after Islam entered and accepted by the public, then formed the Islamic education system.
So we can conclude the concept of Islamic education according to Hasan Langgulung, among them:
1.    The principles of historical, educational history of Islam tried to dig up the treasures of the past Islamic education, by outlining the various dimensions that influence the development, progress and setbacks Islamic education, in the context of values, institutions, leaders, and so on. The relevance to Islamic education in Indonesia, is a continuation of the conditions of the Islamic era retreating and being nurtured back, and seeks to match the current conditions in accordance with the times controlled by the Western system.
2.    Ideological principles, this paper discusses the Qur'an, Sunnah and Ijtihad as the source and the ideology of Islamic education. In principle, the ideological paradigm used is the principles of Islamic teachings that are universal, that Humanism-theocentric. As for relevance, the policy of Islamic education in Indonesia looks more accommodating (adapt) to the neoliberal agenda (political-economic philosophy) are packed in a lot of regulations and laws related to Islamic education.
